  • Grenada, Canada Agree To Exchange Tax Information

Grenada and Canada have signed a tax information exchange agreement.
Commenting on the agreement, Grenada's Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Keith Mitchell, said that with the world becoming a "global village" there is a need for greater transparency and accountability in governance.
He emphasized that such deals are important to tackle money laundering and prevent the financing of terrorism, boosting the territory's international reputation as a financial center.
Canada's High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Marie Legault, who signed the agreement on behalf of Canada, said the agreement demonstrated the commitment of both nations to transparency.
